My capture device won’t capture – again! Please everyone stick with me. My web camera and editing software still works, and I’m still looking to replace the missing transfer cable for my Samsung digital camera (which still has video that I shot at the flea market stored inside it).

@jugghead82 Yes it does. Thanks!

@MaximumRD Regardless of what I do capture wise I am now planning on getting a couple of DVD recorders. One in the living room, where I have five game systems hooked up, and the bedroom, where I have 3 hooked up.

@cessnaace Well from what Ive heard and seen the dazzle seems to be the best of the best for video recording hope this helps their prices range from 50 to 70 bucks but you can get them cheaper hope this helps.
@jugghead82 I’m tired of messing around with Roxio. So I’m going to get a different capture device. Still deciding on what to get though.

@elcarohw I’ve tried all that before, when it failed the last time. I’m tired of messing with it (besides, Roxio is no help at all), so I’ll be replacing it.

@BeeroHeero I’ll be replacing it with something, that’s for sure. Roxio software is too buggy for me. lol.

@misterintellivision We only have the one PC. I’ve reinstalled this software before, and downloaded a $15 service pack. That fixed it after the last failure. Now it’s failed again. So I’ll be replacing it.

@ArcadeMameMachine I’ve tried that after you made the suggestion. No go. My wife also tried resetting the computer to a point when the capture device was working, but that didn’t work either. I’ve decided to replace it with a more reliable one. Thanks for the help.

@LightSlei I use Windows Movie Maker. I haven’t ever seen a zoom function. I have had stuff from Diamond, but I don’t recall how reliable it was.

@Speedy06car Are they internal or external devices?

update the c++ runtime, mircrosoft’s website should have the latest, that might fix it
hmmmm, I don’t know what the trouble is, but I would just reinstall it or use another pc
You should buy a hd capture card. It will be more awesomer (:-), per say.
try using revo uninstaller and uninstall the entire program check registry for any left over file reboot and re install the software check for any patches and from the vender as well and make sure that you windows is updated as well as you video card drivers are updated this may work have run into something similar it it worked fine for me also if you get a new card i recommend dazzle pinnacle owned company and dependable and very easy to use cheers hope all turns out well cya!!!!!!
Damn that really suxs Mark Im not a pc wiz or anything of that nature, but Id do a system restore before the point of when you started having the problems and try it again it might fix the problem if it was something that was changed on the program itself. Hope this can help.
@cessnaace cool.Happy early anniversary dude
Capture devices, playing with Operating systems, drivers, settings, I tell you just get another Standalone DVD recorder, no fuss, no muss.
@spaceman022 I might be able to talk my wife into buying me one on Friday – it’s our wedding anniversary.

@OldSchoolNYCGamer Where did you buy it? Roxio is buggy and they don’t have technical support that actually helps solve anything.

I use Diamond VC500 which is relatively cheap (like $35 on Amazon) and I can help you with that (and it works fine even with outdated software, however you’ll need an editor with a zoom function because of it’s default size).
use a dazzle or easycap
that sucks man..hope you get a new one soon
I never really trusted that company, I just got a decent capture card from newegg and haven’t had a problem with it for the last 3 years.
